FRAMEWORK
For the final project of my introductory Motion Design course, I was tasked with (re)designing any title sequence of our choosing.
I chose “Blink Twice”, a 2024 psychological thriller that had only a title card. The film critiques unchecked power and privilege through a twisted yet playful tale of manipulation and revenge.
PURPOSE
Engage the audience to take note of visual cues that correlate to core film motifs.
FEELING
Nostalgic themes with dark undertones to evoke feelings of intrigue and suspense.
AUDIENCE
Psychological thriller fans and casual viewers who enjoy solving a mystery.
FOOTAGE & PHOTOGRAPHY
Aside from using royalty free clips, some content was shot/filmed by me. Additionally, every polaroid used was a personal outtake scanned in by me.
POLAROIDS IN 3D SPACE
I imported my polaroid scans into After Effects and utilized Z-space to make them come to life on-screen.
EDITING TECHNIQUES
I used various editing techniques to build suspense & guide the audience’s attention through visual interest.
